Trace and Rare Earth Element (REE) Geochemistry of Recently Formed Stromatolites at Lake Salda, SW Turkey

چکیده
Stromatolites are the oldest recognized fossil recordings of life on Earth. Therefore, their study them represents one most interesting topic that investigates physio-chemical environmental conditions (formations and precipitations) at which stromatolites formed. This work deals with rare earth elements (REEs) geochemical characteristics redox-sensitive trace behavior newly formed in Salda Lake, a closed system alkaline lake surrounded by serpentinite rocks SW Turkey. The representative stromatolite samples collected from Lake show higher contents MgO (up to 41.5 wt.%), CO2+OH 56.6 MgO/CaO ratio 42.2 wt.%) referring had been controlled microorganisms deposited subtidal areas having hydro-magnesite aragonite mineralogy. average element 8.4 ppm V, 0.09 Cr, 3.50 Co, 95.6 Ni, 0.73 Cu, 1.55 Rb, 37.6 Sr, 0.59 Y, 17.7 Zr, 3.60 Nb, 21 Ba, 0.05 Hf, 3.5 As, 0.02 Cd, U, Th, 2.85 Pb, 6.60 Zn. Post-Archean Australian Shale (PAAS)-normalized REE patterns reveal heavy REEs (HREEs) enriched relative light (LREEs) highly negative Y Ce-anomalies positive Eu-anomalies. refers predominantly oxidizing partially warm waters. In addition, hydromagnesite composition indicates they were precipitated waters influenced Mg-rich meteoric fed around Lake.

Biglar Permo-Triassic bauxite deposit is located in ~15 km northwest of Abgarm, southwest of Ghazvin province, west of central Iran. It consists of 8 stratiform and discontinuous bauxite lenses lying along the contact of Ruteh (Permian) and Elika (Triassic) carbonate formations. Petrographically, the bauxite ores exhibit collomorphic-fluidal, pseudo-breccia, pseudo-porphyritic, panidio-morphic-...

The Pirashkaft bauxite deposit is located in north of the Paskuhak anticline in the Fars Province. The bauxite deposit present between Sarvak and Gurpy Formations, and formed during the Late Turonian time as a consequent of the Laramid orogeny phase. According to the geological investigations, the Pirashkaft bauxite is Karstic type. The residual ore studied in the Pirashkaft can be classified ...
